Lyons Heritage Society October Meeting: Chris Davis on Glass Bottle Production for Hotchkiss Peppermint

The next meeting of the Lyons Heritage Society will take place on Mon., Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Lyons Public Library, 122 Broad Street in Lyons. Chris Davis will present "Where Peppermint Bottles Were Made".  The program will cover the years, 1845 to the early 1900s. Information from glass house correspondence and invoices from several glass factories in NYS that produced bottles for the H.G. Hotchkiss Co. will be discussed. Slides will illustrate the talk and there will be some items on display. Mr. Davis is a longtime member of the Lyons Heritage Society. He lives in Newark and is involved with the Newark-Arcadia Historical Society as executive director, and a board member of the Wayne County Historical Society.  Refreshments will be available.  The Lyons Heritage Society Board will meet at 6 p.m. prior to the presentation, with the regular member meeting of the Society following the talk.  This program is free and open to the public.
