The HG HOTCHKISS PEPPERMINT MUSEUM will have special hours during Lyons Peppermint Days on July 14-15. On Saturday, July 14, the museum will open at 10am and close at 4:00, with tours on the hour. On Sunday, July 15, tours start at noon and run until 4:00 with tours on the hour.

The museum's Peppermint Shoppe will have a booth in the park on both Saturday and Sunday. The museum has some new peppermint products including Silver Acres soap, peppermint spoons, a variety of mints and lotions, peppermint pigs and of course, peppermint oil!!

The focal point of Lyons Peppermint Days is the Peppermint Oil Factory Museum because of its huge impact on the economic development of Lyons, Wayne County and New York. In the latter part of the 19th Century, Lyons was known as the "Peppermint Capital of the World", as it was the world's largest supplier of peppermint oil. The Factory is now a museum and boasts of being one of three industries let in tact on the entire Erie Canal. To visit the museum is to have a unique experience!
